HEC MiM Admissions: Requirements, Deadlines and Fees for 2027

HEC MiM admissions are open to graduates of any three-year bachelor's degree with little or no work experience. You need a GMAT, GRE or TAGE MAGE score, an English test, essays, an academic reference and an interview. With the programme ranked fifth worldwide by the Financial Times in 2026, competition is intense, so your academic record carries real weight.

What is the HEC Paris Master in Management?

The Master in Management Grande École programme is the flagship pre-experience degree of HEC Paris business school. International direct entrants study for two years on the Jouy-en-Josas campus: M1 covers general management, then M2 is one of nine specialisations, from International Finance to Strategic Management and X-HEC Entrepreneurs. An optional gap year between the two lets you take internships or a personal project.

The next intake starts in September 2027. Graduates came from 52 nationalities in the 2024 graduation survey, and you can choose from more than 30 double degrees, the CEMS joint degree, 150 electives and 70 exchange destinations. If you already have several years of experience, compare it with HEC MBA admissions instead.

What are the HEC MiM requirements?

  • A bachelor's degree of at least three years in any field. Final-year students can apply.
  • A GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE or TAGE MAGE score.
  • An English test (TOEIC with all four parts, TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge), unless you are a native speaker or your whole degree was taught in English.
  • A one-page CV and transcripts from every institution, including exchanges.
  • Programme essays, which appear once you select the programme in the portal.
  • One confidential academic reference. Ask at least four weeks before your deadline.

How do HEC MiM admissions work in 2026-27?

An admissibility jury reviews only what you submit by the deadline. Admissible candidates then take a 30-minute interview on Zoom, in English, with programme directors and alumni. The application fee is €180, and decisions are final. If your bachelor's degree is from outside France, HEC also runs a separate Join a School in France route with its own deadlines and a €250 fee, but you can use only one route.

HEC MiM tuition and career outcomes

For the 2027 intake, HEC lists indicative HEC MiM tuition of €29,485 per year, or €58,970 for the two years, plus €2,500 for students from outside the EU. A gap year adds €2,985 in fees for the final year. Budget roughly €1,500 a month for living costs, and remember that fees change each year.

Outcomes are strong: 99% of graduates were employed within three months (FT 2025 data), with an average salary of €118,500 three years after graduation (FT 2026 data).

How can you stand out?

  • Treat your test as a signal of academic readiness. Aim for a balanced score rather than one strong section.
  • Choose your likely M2 specialisation before you write. Essays linking one track to a clear career goal beat general praise for HEC.
  • Prepare the interview as a conversation about your motivation, not a recital.
  • For HEC MiM admissions this cycle, Round 2 or 3 is now your best window. Keep Round 4 as a fallback, especially if you need a student visa.

Frequently asked questions

What is the HEC MiM acceptance rate?

HEC does not publish an official acceptance rate for the Master in Management. Treat it as highly selective: the programme ranked second worldwide in the FT ranking in 2024 and 2025, and only candidates who pass the admissibility jury reach interview. A strong academic record, a solid test score and a focused application matter most.

What HEC MiM GMAT score do I need?

HEC sets no minimum score and also accepts the GRE or TAGE MAGE. Competitive, balanced scores help, so plan enough preparation time before your round. If finance is your goal, compare this with HEC MiF admissions, where HEC reports a median GMAT of 715.

Can I apply to the HEC MiM before I graduate?

Yes. Final-year students can apply with an enrolment certificate and transcripts to date, including any exchange semester. If you are admitted, you must later prove that you have completed your bachelor's degree. That lets you move straight into M1 in September 2027.
