Study Business in Barcelona: Programs with Global Impact

For several years now, ESADE has proudly held a spot among the top 10 business schools in Europe according to the Financial Times. Nestled in beautiful Barcelona as part of Ramon Llul University, ESADE is known for its top-notch finance programs and has an impressive professional integration rate of nearly 95%. Plus, they have a fantastic network of around 250 business angels ready to support graduates in their exciting projects!

ESADE offers a variety of engaging business programs, including their well-loved four-year Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA). With nearly 6,000 students from over 100 different nationalities, the campus is a vibrant and diverse place to learn and grow.

Programs That Open Doors

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (4 years - €19,300/year)
  • Bachelor in Transformational Business & Social Impact (4 years - €20,300/year)
  • Bachelor in Global Governance, Economics & Legal Order (4 years - €19,300/year)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration & Law (Double degree, 5 years - €22,200/year)

If you’re interested in applying, you can do so during your final year of high school through the ESADE website. You’re welcome to apply for multiple bachelor's degrees too! The application process is on a "rolling admissions" basis, which means there's no official deadline—you can apply as late as July or August. However, since these programs are selective and have limited spots, it’s a good idea to get your application in as early as you can.

Step 1: Your Online Application & Personal Essays

This document is all about gathering your personal information along with some important details for your application. Instead of a typical cover letter, you have to answer a few application questions and write some essays. These essays give you a chance to share more about yourself, your passions, and what motivates you (each one should be up to 3000 characters).

Here are the main essay questions:

  • What are your motivations for joining ESADE?
  • How did you learn about this program?
  • How do you evaluate your academic level and what do you consider will be your performance by the end of the academic year?
  • Do you participate or have you participated in cultural, artistic, sports, social or associational activities?
  • Any personal observations you feel should be considered for your application?

Additionally, please remember to:

  • Fill in your personal details completely.
  • Register for the ESADE entrance test, or share your SAT or ACT scores.
  • Upload your report cards from the last 4 years of high school.
  • Provide a copy of your passport or ID card.
  • Share your results from a standardized English test (TOEFL or IELTS), keeping in mind that they look for a high level (a minimum of 7 in IELTS or 97 in TOEFL).
  • Attach any other documents that you think would support your application.

Step 2: The ESADE Admission Test — What to Expect

When it comes to the admissions test, you'll have a few options to choose from: you can take the SAT, ACT, or the ESADE in-house test. We really think you should go for the in-house test!

The ESADE test is a convenient online English assessment that you can take from the comfort of your home with supervision provided by ProctorU. Just make sure your computer has a working webcam and microphone!

This test will take about 3 hours and 30 minutes and is uniquely designed to evaluate your skills in English reading comprehension, writing, logic, and mental math. While the details of the test are kept under wraps, and there aren’t any official study materials out there, the Zenith team has done its best to gather some helpful resources for you!

Here’s a breakdown of the test into five sections:

1. Sufficiency of Information: Reading Comprehension (16 questions in 30 minutes) - You’ll read 16 short paragraphs on various topics and answer a multiple-choice question for each. The questions usually focus on grasping the main idea and drawing conclusions.

2. Numerical Analysis: Mathematics (48 questions in 35 minutes) - This is all about mental math! You’ll face 48 multiple-choice questions, and guess what? No calculators allowed! The questions will gradually get trickier, testing your speed with basic arithmetic, roots, powers, and fractions.

3. Writing (400 words in 30 minutes) - You'll be given a topic and have 30 minutes to write a 400-word essay. It could be about anything from your motivations to current events or even a personal trait.

4. Logical Reasoning (45 questions in 35 minutes) - In this fun section, you'll identify the logical sequence of various symbols, such as shapes or signs. It's all about spotting the pattern!

5. English Grammar (100 questions in 60 minutes) - This final section has 100 multiple-choice questions to complete in 60 minutes. You’ll fill in the blanks in sentences by choosing the right word or phrase.

While there are some limited materials available on the ESADE website, there aren’t many study guides out there. Don’t worry though! Zenith offers review courses specifically designed to help you ace the test and maximize your results.

Just a heads up: the structure mentioned here is specific to the ESADE BBA application, and the test sections may vary a little for other ESADE bachelor programs.

What Happens Next? After Your Test and Application

After these two stages, there are a few exciting possibilities!

1. ESADE may confirm your admission right away, without needing any grades.

2. ESADE might express their interest in your application but will kindly ask for your next report card to ensure you're keeping up your good results.

3. ESADE may invite you for a motivational interview to get to know you better before making a final decision.
