IE Master in Business Analytics Admissions: Requirements and Intakes

IE Master in Business Analytics admissions are the closest match if you searched for an IE MAM, because IE has no programme with that name. Its analytics master is the Master in Business Analytics and Data Science, taught in Madrid by IE School of Science and Technology rather than IE Business School. It suits graduates from business, quantitative or tech backgrounds, and admissions are rolling.

What is the IE Master in Business Analytics and Data Science?

Formerly called the Master in Business Analytics and Big Data, the programme is taught in English in two formats. The full-time version lasts 11 months, in person in Madrid, with an immersion week abroad. The part-time version lasts 17 months and is blended: online sessions, live Saturday classes, four weeks in Madrid and one week at an international destination.

The core covers Python, SQL, Linux, GitHub, quantitative methods and AI, followed by electives, company challenges and capstone projects. Full-time concentrations include Fintech and Banking, Advanced AI, Healthcare and Biotech, and Tech Consulting and Data Strategy. You can also earn AWS, Microsoft and Tableau certifications, join a Berkeley immersion week or study a term at IE New York College.

IE business analytics requirements

IE lists no formal prerequisites. Students typically come from business, quantitative or tech backgrounds such as finance, economics, management, marketing, mathematics, statistics, social science or computer science, and IE says candidates without a tech background can succeed with commitment. What IE looks for is real interest in large datasets and AI.

Expect the standard IE master's file: a bachelor's degree and transcripts, a one-page CV, a personal statement, two references and proof of English (IE's business masters ask for at least TOEFL 100 or IELTS 7). You must submit a GMAT, GRE or ieGAT (IE Global Admissions Test) result. Tuition is €43,000 for the full-time 2026 intakes, plus a one-off €1,200 IE Foundation contribution; IE reviews fees every year, so check the programme's admissions and fees page before you plan.

How IE Master in Business Analytics admissions work

IE admits on a rolling basis with no fixed deadlines, places are limited, and a decision usually takes one to three weeks. The process has four steps:

  1. Submit the online application and pay the €150 fee.
  2. Take the ieGAT, GMAT or GRE.
  3. Complete an online assessment: two video answers and one written answer.
  4. Interview with an admissions manager, in person or online.

Apply several months before your intake, especially for the April 2027 full-time start if you need a visa.

Careers and which IE master fits

IE names data analyst, business intelligence analyst, data scientist and machine learning specialist among typical roles, with alumni at Google, Renault, EY, KPMG, Sony and Meta. The programme page does not publish an employment rate, so ask admissions for the latest data.

Start with the work you want to do every day. If you want to build models and data products, this is the IE analytics master for you. If you want a broad business role, compare IE MiM admissions. If markets and investing appeal, see IE Master in Finance admissions. Dual degrees combine this master with either one. Our IE Business School overview explains how the schools fit together.

How to stand out

  • Prove your quantitative skills with strong maths or statistics grades, or a Python or SQL course.
  • Share a small data project, for example on GitHub, and explain the business question behind it.
  • Choose a concentration early and link it to the industry you want to join.
  • In your interview, walk through one analysis from problem to decision.
