What is the Imperial MSc in Management and who is it for?
The MSc in Management (MiM) is a 12-month, full-time programme taught at Imperial's South Kensington and White City campuses, starting in August 2027 with online pre-study and then a September induction. An optional extended term runs to 16 months. You take eight core modules, including Strategic Management and Applied Corporate Finance, then four electives in finance, strategy, innovation, operations or marketing. You finish with a consulting project for a real client or a work placement.
The Imperial MiM class profile for the Class of 2027 shows 268 students from 54 nationalities, 49% of them women. Nearly half (48%) studied business or management, but 17% come from arts and humanities and 16% from engineering, so a non-business degree is fine. In the QS 2026 Masters in Management ranking, the programme placed 9th in the world.
What are the Imperial MSc Management requirements?
- Degree: a first or upper second-class honours degree, or international equivalent, in any subject.
- Quantitative evidence: a quantitative experience statement listing up to five of your most quantitative courses, backed by your transcript.
- Imperial MiM GMAT: strongly recommended but not required. The minimum is the 55th percentile on GMAT Focus or 600 on the GMAT 10th Edition, where the current average is 653. A GRE Quant score of 159 also helps.
- Experience: designed for new and recent graduates. More than two years of work is considered case by case, and internships are strongly recommended.
- English: IELTS Academic 7.0 with 6.5 in each element, or an accepted TOEFL or Duolingo score.
