INSEAD Master in Finance Admissions: Guide to the 2027 Intake
INSEAD Master in Finance admissions are open for a brand-new programme whose first class starts in August 2027. It is built for recent graduates and early-career professionals with 0 to 2 years of experience, and you need a bachelor's degree, a GMAT or GRE score, fluent English and an alumni interview. With no past class to benchmark against, treat it as highly competitive.

What is the INSEAD MiF and who is it for?
INSEAD announced the Master in Finance (MIF) in September 2025. The INSEAD MiF is a 14-month, full-time programme followed by a six-month professional experience, either an internship or a full-time job. It runs in four stages:
- An online Period 0 covering data, statistics, programming and platforms such as Bloomberg and LSEG.
- Core courses in Fontainebleau, from Corporate Finance and Capital Markets to Data Science for Finance and AI and Deep Tech for Finance.
- A specialised track in Singapore: Wealth Management, Corporate Finance and Private Markets, or an Open Track.
- Six months of professional experience anywhere in the world.
INSEAD says the move from Europe to Asia is timed to match recruitment cycles in both regions. The curriculum page lists only France and Singapore as teaching locations.
You do not need a finance degree: Period 0 is designed to bring everyone to the same starting line. If you are still unsure that finance is your industry, a broader degree may suit you better, so compare it with INSEAD MiM admissions.
Do not confuse it with the INSEAD Executive Master in Finance (EMFin), a part-time, modular 18-month programme, mainly in Singapore, for experienced finance professionals who keep working.
INSEAD Master in Finance requirements
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- A GMAT or GRE score, valid for five years. The test is mandatory, there is no minimum score and no waiver. A CFA is not required.
- Proof of English: TOEFL, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic or Duolingo English Test, or a degree taught in English. Native English speakers also need a second language at around CEFR B1.
- Two recommendations: one from a current or former manager and one academic.
- A CV and scanned transcripts.
Work experience is not required, but exposure to finance, through internships or projects, is valued.
INSEAD Master in Finance admissions process and deadlines

Frequently asked questions
Is the INSEAD Master in Finance the same as the Executive Master in Finance?
No. The Master in Finance is a full-time, 14-month programme in Fontainebleau and Singapore for candidates with 0 to 2 years of experience. The Executive Master in Finance is a part-time, modular 18-month programme, mainly in Singapore, for experienced finance professionals who continue working.
Do you need a finance degree for the INSEAD MiF?
No. INSEAD states that no finance background is required, and the online Period 0 covers data, statistics and programming before classes begin. You still need a solid GMAT or GRE result, so quantitative readiness matters whatever your undergraduate subject.
