INSEAD MiM Admissions: Requirements, Deadlines and Fees for 2027

INSEAD MiM admissions are designed for recent graduates, typically aged 19 to 24, with little or no full-time work experience. You need a bachelor's degree, a GMAT or GRE score (no waivers), fluent English, two recommendations and an alumni interview. With fewer than 300 places and an FT top-five ranking three years running, it is highly selective.

What is the INSEAD Master in Management and who is it for?

The INSEAD Master in Management (MIM) is a 14-month, full-time programme with one intake a year, in August, followed by a six-month internship. You study on the Europe Campus in Fontainebleau and the Asia Campus in Singapore, with optional study trips to destinations such as Abu Dhabi, China and the USA.

The INSEAD MiM class profile for the class of 2028 shows 296 students, an average age of 23, an average of 11 months of work or internship experience, 54 nationalities and 45% women.

The MiM suits you if you want an international business career and would rather start now than after years of work. With three or more years of experience, compare INSEAD MBA admissions, and see our INSEAD business school overview.

INSEAD MiM requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • A GMAT or GRE score, valid for five years. The test is mandatory and there is no minimum score.
  • Proof of English: TOEFL, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic or Duolingo English Test, or a degree taught in English.
  • Languages: native English speakers must prove a second language, and every student needs basic knowledge of a third language to graduate (free courses are provided).
  • Two recommendations: one from a current or former manager and one academic.
  • A CV and scanned transcripts.

Full-time work experience is not required, but INSEAD values business exposure such as internships or charity work.

INSEAD MiM admissions process and deadlines for 2027

The application has four short written answers: who you are (200 words), the area of business that interests you and how you explored it (300), your career goals (300) and anything else (300). Within 48 hours of your round deadline you complete a Kira assessment: four video questions with 45 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to answer, plus one written question.

Pre-selected candidates then interview with an INSEAD alum, usually in their country of residence. The whole process takes about eight weeks and the application fee is €180. The INSEAD MiM deadlines for the August 2027 intake are:

RoundApplication deadlineFinal decision
16 October 20264 December 2026
28 December 20265 February 2027
323 February 202716 April 2027
427 April 202725 June 2027

INSEAD says seats are spread roughly evenly across rounds, so apply when your file is strong. Non-European applicants should aim early, because French student visas can take several months.

INSEAD MiM tuition and career outcomes

INSEAD currently lists MiM tuition at €57,870, with estimated living costs of around €22,000 for the programme. Fees change each year.

For the MIM class of 2026, 93% received a job offer within three months of graduating, across more than 30 countries. Consulting took 35%, corporate sectors 23%, technology, media and telecoms 22% and finance 20%. For Gulf readers, 13% started work in the Middle East.

How to stand out

Strong INSEAD MiM admissions files tend to share four traits.

  • Treat the INSEAD MiM GMAT target as section scores, not a total. INSEAD recommends at least the 60th percentile in Verbal and the 66th in Quantitative and Data Insights on the GMAT Focus Edition.
  • Make the "area of business" answer concrete: name the internship, project or course that shaped your interest.
  • Show international motivation through evidence such as exchanges, languages or multicultural teams.
  • Rehearse timed video answers before your Kira assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What GMAT score do you need for the INSEAD MiM?

There is no minimum GMAT score. INSEAD reviews each section and recommends at least the 60th percentile in Verbal and the 66th in Quantitative and Data Insights on the GMAT Focus Edition, or 80% or above in GRE Verbal and Quantitative. A below-average score does not automatically rule you out.

How is the INSEAD MiM different from the INSEAD Master in Finance?

Both are 14-month, full-time programmes for early-career candidates, taught in Fontainebleau and Singapore, with the same tuition and round deadlines. The MiM is a broad general management degree, while the Master in Finance specialises in corporate finance, asset management, risk and fintech. See our guide to INSEAD Master in Finance admissions.
