LSE MiM Admissions: Master's in Management Guide for 2027 Entry
LSE MiM admissions favour recent graduates with a 2:1 or better, solid quantitative ability and a clear reason to study management at a social science university. LSE offers two routes, the one-year Master's in Management and the two-year Global Master's in Management. Both are selective, with roughly seven to ten applications per place in 2025.

What is the LSE Master's in Management and who is it for?
The one-year Master's in Management, run by the Department of Management, starts with an online preparation module in July 2027 and an introductory course in September 2027. Core courses include financial and management accounting and managerial finance. The Winter Term adds a capstone with an international immersion visit and a London Consulting Project for a real organisation, and an optional 10 to 12 week Work Placement Pathway follows in summer 2028. LSE says less than 12 months of work experience is ideal.
The LSE Global Master's in Management (GMiM) suits you if you want more time, a summer internship and an international second year. In Year 2 you can apply for the LSE CEMS MIM double degree and spend a term at one of 33 CEMS partner schools, take an MBA exchange term, or stay in London to specialise. You cannot switch between the two programmes once you start.

LSE Master's in Management requirements
- Degree: a 2:1 or international equivalent in any discipline.
- LSE MiM GMAT policy: not required for the one-year programme, but LSE suggests a GMAT or GRE score if you have no post-16 maths qualification. For the GMiM, a test is required if you do not hold a UK degree. Scores must be under five years old on 1 October 2027.
- English: LSE's Standard level, for example IELTS 7.0 with 6.5 in each component, or TOEFL iBT 100.
- Documents: a statement of academic purpose, two academic references, transcripts and a CV that shows your maths level and grade.
LSE MiM admissions process and deadlines for 2027
Applications for 2027/28 open in October 2026. There is no fixed deadline: admissions are rolling and programmes close when full. You can choose up to two programmes in order of preference, the application fee is £95, and decisions take about eight weeks on average. Your file is only reviewed once both references arrive, so brief your referees early.
LSE MiM tuition and career outcomes
LSE MiM tuition is £44,900 for 2027/28 starters, whatever your fee status, and fees rise most years.
According to HESA Graduate Outcomes data (2019/20 to 2023/24 surveys), the median salary 15 months after graduation was £40,000 for the Master's in Management and £37,500 to £53,500 across GMiM streams. Employers include Deloitte, Accenture, Amazon, Boston Consulting Group and Goldman Sachs.
How to stand out
- Prove your maths on paper. Put quantitative courses and grades on your CV, and add a GMAT or GRE score if your record is light.
- Write an academic statement. Explain why management at LSE, which courses you want, and how a social science lens fits your goals.
- Choose one route on purpose. The one-year MiM suits a fast move into work; the GMiM suits people who want an internship, CEMS or more time to decide.
- Apply early in the cycle. LSE MiM admissions are rolling, so an application in November competes for more places than the same file in May.

Frequently asked questions
What is the LSE MiM acceptance rate?
LSE publishes no acceptance rate. In 2025 it reported 1,031 applications for 102 places on the Master's in Management (10:1) and 657 applications for 101 places on the Global Master's in Management (7:1). These are application-to-place ratios, not offer rates, so treat them as a guide to competition, not your odds.
How do I join CEMS at LSE?
You cannot apply to CEMS directly. You join the two-year Global Master's in Management, then apply for the CEMS Master's in International Management during the first term of Year 1, with a statement and a panel interview. LSE's 2023 information sheet says almost all GMiM students who apply are offered a place.
