LSE EMBA Admissions: TRIUM Global Executive MBA Guide for 2027

LSE EMBA admissions run through the TRIUM Global Executive MBA, which LSE delivers with HEC Paris and NYU Stern for senior leaders with at least 10 years of professional experience. Selection rests on seniority, international responsibility and leadership, tested through essays and two interviews. If you have five or more years of experience, LSE's Executive Global Master's in Management is the main alternative.

What is the TRIUM Global Executive MBA and who is it for?

TRIUM is the only LSE executive MBA. It runs over 18 months in six modules, with 10 weeks in class: London (LSE), New York (NYU Stern), Paris (HEC Paris), then Seoul, Nairobi and Dubai. Graduates receive an MBA jointly awarded by NYU, HEC Paris and LSE. The Class of 2029 starts in September 2027.

On the TRIUM EMBA class profile, LSE describes classes of around 40 students from more than 25 nationalities, and TRIUM reports an average age of about 40 with around 15 years of experience. TRIUM ranked sixth in the Financial Times Executive MBA Rankings 2025 and first in the QS Joint EMBA Rankings 2025, according to LSE. For Gulf-based executives, the Dubai module and the short in-person format make it easier to keep a senior role while studying.

TRIUM EMBA requirements

  • Experience: at least 10 years of professional work experience, typically 10 to 15; candidates below 10 years are considered case by case.
  • Seniority and scope: senior management experience is preferred, and global or international responsibility is a selection criterion.
  • Degree: not strictly required, although most participants hold one.
  • Tests: GMAT is generally required below 15 years of experience, though waivers are possible. Admissions will also tell you if you need TOEFL or IELTS.

LSE EMBA admissions process and deadlines

  1. Preliminary assessment form: you share your professional profile.
  2. Information interview: an informal conversation about your goals and fit.
  3. Application: three essays (your motivations, your future objectives, and leadership experiences that shaped your outlook), two professional references and supporting documents. The application fee is US$250.
  4. Selection interview: with a senior member of the admissions committee. A decision usually follows within two weeks.

For LSE EMBA admissions, the next TRIUM EMBA deadline is 30 November 2026; review is rolling, so apply early in the cycle.

TRIUM EMBA fees

TRIUM EMBA fees are US$209,500 for the Class of 2029. This covers tuition, accommodation for the Seoul, Nairobi and Dubai modules, lunches, group dinners and required materials. Travel is extra, a non-refundable US$10,000 deposit is due on acceptance, and fees are reviewed every year.

The LSE alternative: Executive Global Master's in Management

The LSE Executive Global Master's in Management suits professionals with at least five years of full-time, relevant experience and a 2:1 or equivalent. No GMAT or GRE is required, although LSE may ask for quantitative evidence. You apply with a personal statement, CV, two references and confirmation of employer support. It entered the QS Executive MBA Rankings in 2026 among the top 20 globally.

How to stand out

  • Quantify your scope. Team size, budget, markets and decisions you own matter more than job titles.
  • Make your future objectives specific. Explain what you will lead next and why a global format helps.
  • Secure time and support first. Both programmes need you out of the office for weeks at a time.
  • Prepare for two conversations. Practise with our guide to grad school interview questions.

Frequently asked questions

How many years of experience do I need for the LSE executive MBA?

TRIUM asks for at least 10 years of professional experience, typically 10 to 15, with senior management experience preferred. If you have five to nine years, LSE's Executive Global Master's in Management, which requires at least five years, is usually the better fit.

Do I need a GMAT score for TRIUM?

It depends on your experience. TRIUM generally requires the GMAT if you have less than 15 years of professional experience, but it can grant a waiver when your career shows the relevant skills. The admissions team confirms whether you need a test after reviewing your profile, so ask early.
